A Night of Wins for RMA Volleyball
The Eagles Varsity Volleyball team defeated Wayne Country Day School on September 29, sweeping the Chargers 25-18, 25-22, and 25-14.
Freshman setter Locklyn Flowers led the offense with 28 assists, while junior setter Allison Copeland added five. Their combined effort helped sophomore outside hitter Charlotte Burns record 32 kills. Defensively, Savannah Norton led the team with 12 digs, followed by Burns with five and junior Kaylen Evans with three. At the net, Burns recorded one solo block, while middle Emma Claire Martin added two and Gabbi Brys-Wilson had one. At the service line, Brys-Wilson led with several long runs, while Evans, Norton, and Flowers each contributed multiple aces.

The JV Volleyball team earned an impressive conference victory on Tuesday, defeating their opponent in straight sets, 25–17 and 25–14.
The Eagles controlled the match from the opening serve, using strong serving, solid defense, and consistent teamwork to secure the win. Rocky Mount Academy jumped out to an early lead in the first set, led by Locklyn Flowers scoring the first 12 points and finishing the night with 26 points. Additionally, Emma-Claire Martin, Ryleigh Evans and Molly Jackson kept the pressure on with aggressive play at the net. In the second set, the Eagles continued their strong performance, building an early advantage behind excellent defensive efforts from Savannah Norton and Ella Lauer. The final score of the second set was 25–14, to complete the sweep.
The Middle School volleyball team won its 11th match of the season on Tuesday, defeating Wayne Country Day School in two sets. The Eagles dominated the first set, winning 25-6, behind the strong serving of Tomiwa Awe and Eliza Wooten. Chandler Brown and Dallas Rackley contributed a strong defensive effort in the win. The second set started strong, with Mary Douglas Robillard netting 9 service points. The Lady Eagles faltered and allowed Wayne Country Day to come back, but ultimately won the set and match.
