Ways to Give
A planned gift is usually the most important gift an individual makes in a lifetime. Planning your estate ensures that your property will pass to those individuals and causes for which you care most deeply. Remembering RMA in your estate plans is a fitting testimony to your belief in our misison and has a profound impact providing future resources that continue to strengthen our Mission.
Below are ways you can have an impact on Rocky Mount Academy:
Gift In Kind Donations are tangible goods and services donated to the school for which the donor can receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the item. Before accepting Gifts In Kind, the appropriate school department should be contacted by the donor to determine our ability to use the specific item. Common Gifts In Kind are computers, books, and laboratory equipment.
Contributions made by check, cash, or credit card are tax deductible in the year the donation is given. Please make checks payable to "Rocky Mount Academy." To make a donation with your credit card, you can use our online donation form or contact kbryant@rmacademy.com.
It is becoming more common for donors to make gifts of securities. If the security has appreciated greatly in value, you avoid capital gains taxes by gifting the stock directly to the school. We recommend that donors consult their financial advisor before making any final decision. For details about how to make a gift of stock, contact Katherine Bryant at (252) 443-4126 or email kbryant@rmacademy.com.
You may make a pledge to the Annual Fund or other area by contacting kbryant@rmacademy.com. Pledges can be satisfied through a single contribution or in multiple payments at a time that is convenient for you. If your gift is to The Annual Fund, all final payments are due no later than June 30 in the school year your gift was pledged.
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. If you work for a company that matches gifts, you can double or triple the value of your contribution. Contact your Human Resources Department for eligibility information and to obtain a matching gift form, and follow your employer’s matching gift procedures.
