LEARNING EXTENDS BEYOND THE CLASSROOM A good education encourages a young person to look inside himself or herself to discover the strengths and values that guide individual performance and relationships with others. During their years at RMA, our students acquire knowledge and gain experience that combine to shape their concepts about life, work, service and world citizenship. Involvement in the Community One of the many ways the Academy combines its well-known qualities of academic excellence with an emphasis on education for character and citizenship is through community service. Recognition of a responsibility to community begins in our lower school with class projects to aid charities, social service agencies and the environment. Middle and Upper school students participate in a variety of community efforts through participation in clubs and service groups, and in grades 10-12, by completing required service hours. Visiting the elderly, working with the handicapped, supporting recycling projects and responding to a host of human service needs in our community are just a few of the ways that Academy students learn they can and do make a difference in the world.
