March 2 was Read Across America Day, the nation's largest reading celebration in support of literacy. The National Education Association combined that event with the 50th birthday celebration of Dr. Seuss' beloved book, The Cat in the Hat. And who needed any more reason to party?
RMA Librarian Ann Cobb and the Library Committee planned a day of activities in the Lower School. Everyone wore Cat hats, Headmaster Stevens read the book to the young students, and then there was cake! Students and faculty signed a birthday card to the cat himself which actually helped to donate books to children in need. A good time was had by all.
